About Make Music Vermont
Make Music Vermont is Vermont’s edition of Make Music Day (Fête de la Musique), a worldwide celebration held every June 21. For one day, our communities fill with free performances in parks, porches, village greens, businesses, farms, and Main Streets—and everyone’s invited.
Who Can Participate?
Anyone. Whether you're a professional musician, a bedroom guitarist, a church choir, a marching band, or someone who just likes to sing — Make Music Vermont celebrates all music and all musicians.
Musicians
Register as a performer, browse available locations, and get matched to play. Solo, duo, band, ensemble — all welcome.
Locations
Host music at your business, porch, park, farm, or public space. You bring the spot — we'll help you find the musicians.
Communities
Start a Make Music Day chapter in your town. We provide resources, guidance, and support to help you bring music to your neighborhood.
How It Works
- Register — musicians and locations sign up on the matchmaking website
- Match up — musicians request locations; locations request musicians
- Make music — once matched, you’re on the schedule
No auditions. No fees. Just music.
Why Make Music Day?
Make Music Day is about turning our towns into stages—celebrating the start of summer with free, live music in public spaces. And it’s a simple way to practice collaboration: every town, every state, and every country celebrates in its own style, but together we create one shared day of music around the world. Here in Vermont, it helps musicians connect with new audiences, gives local businesses and hosts a welcoming reason to open their spaces, and invites everyone to take part.
