Make Music Day truly went statewide this year, with towns from the Northeast Kingdom to the southern border joining in. Thank you to every participating community:
Bennington, Bethel, Brattleboro, Bristol, Brookfield, Danville, Greensboro, Lake Elmore, Middlebury, Middletown Springs, Montpelier, North Hero, Norwich, Poultney, Putney, Randolph, Rochester, South Burlington, Springfield, St. Johnsbury, Stockbridge, Tunbridge, Wilder, Windsor, and Winooski.
Music filled every kind of space imaginable — parks and bandstands, cafés and restaurants, retail shops, libraries, community centers, even a sidewalk and a garage.
A few standout celebrations:
- Randolph had a wonderful day with music all across town — 17 events at 13 venues, from Chandler Music Hall and Kimball Public Library to Town Park, Wit & Grit, and the shops along Main Street, with parades carrying the celebration from venue to venue.
- Strong turnouts also lit up Bennington, Lake Elmore, Brookfield, Springfield, Bethel, and Stockbridge.
🔭 What's Next
Make Music Day is one day — but our work continues year-round. Here's what's ahead:
- Summer: Recap report, photo/video compilation, and a celebratory social media series
- Fall: Planning kickoff for 2027, chapter development, and new community outreach
- Winter: Early registration opens, sponsorship campaign launches
We'll continue sharing updates throughout the year. If you'd like to stay involved — as an organizer, volunteer, advisor, or supporter — just reach out.
Make Music Day started with a simple idea: anyone can make music, and music belongs everywhere. What you did on June 21st proved that Vermont believes in that idea. Thank you for being part of a decade-long tradition. See you next year. 🎶 — The Make Music Vermont Team makemusicvt.org
